About the blog

I am an intersex person, and I have a lot of thoughts on what it's like to be intersex. Unfortunately, sharing those thoughts can be quite hard, because frankly most people don't even know we exist so every discussion on intersex stuff starts and ends with "here is the dictionary definition please stop misusing our word and/or pretending we don't exist."

So I'm making this blog, where I can share those thoughts without worrying about being palapable to perisex people. I've included some stuff so people who know nothing about intersex folks can still educate themselves, but generally I will write assuming the reader already knows the basic stuff. If you ever find yourself confused by what I write, I invite you to do your own research.

Some warnings, before you go any further:

  • I am one lone blogger. I am not an organisation, not a government official, and frankly I barely consider myself an activist. My word is not law. I'm sure there are plenty of intersex people out there who would disagree with some of my opinions. Again, this isn't a blog about stating obvious facts everyone would know from wikipedia, this is a blog about opening discussions.
  • I am not american, or any shade of english. Some of the stuff I will mention might not be applicable to your country. And that also means that stuff that is considered a given in english-speaking circles might not apply to me at all.
  • Since I will speak of my own experiences here, I will often talk about intersexism, which can involve medical trauma. Reader discretion is advised.

And that's it! Hope this blog gives you some thoughts!
