Recently, Trump, the current US president, announced he would pass a law stating that there are only two human genders, which are defined at conception and cannot ever be changed. I hope I don't need to tell you this policy was clearly crafted to target trans people; I've seen many people speak up about it, from coping memes to more serious warnings.

Among the many things I've seen said about this policy however, I have seen more than one "haha, wait until the gov learns about intersex people!" so while I don't need to tell people about the anti-trans aspect of this bill, I suppose I need to speak up on the anti-intersex side of it:

WE ARE LITERALLY ONE OF THE TARGETS OF THIS POLICY, YOU DUMB FUCK.

This isn't a mistake from conservatives. This isn't a case of "didn't realize intersex people existed, whoopsie!" This isn't "misdirected transphobia," as I keep seeing people call it. Intnersex people are literally the target of this law, in the same way trans people are. Trans and intersex rights have ALWAYS been entwined, targetted by the same policies, and threatened by the same social constraints. This shit isn't new it's not a mistake it's not accidental it is work towards the purposeful erasure of intersex people. Are you people fucking dumb.

You guys need to understand that conservatives don't see intersex people as "the proof sex isn't binary" or anything like that. Conservatives think intersex folks are disordered males/females who need to be mutilated into a binary sex, or murdered. Do you think infant genital mutilation is also conservatives not knowing we exist?? There are literally historical cases (paper author) of doctors running into people with mixed sex characteristics just voting on whether they're a failed female or a failed male.

"Wow, intersex erasure in queer spaces is fucking annoying" is a recurring theme in my posts, but when I see this kind of shit, I think I'm not anywhere close to stop complaining. Perisex people looooooove to prop up intersex people when it's convenient, to prove that the gender binary isn't real, to make jokes about how stupid conservatives are, but they prove times and times again that they don't actually care about us as anything other than a gotcha. They don't know, or care to know, about our history, about how our rights are impacted, about what's it like to live as a real human being in this world rather than a hypothetical. I cannot emphasize enough that none of this is new. Conservatives have been targetting us for decades. The fucking Imane Khelif debacle happened last year.

I'm aware this post is a lot more hostile than what I usually write, but fuck man, can you really blame me? I'm tired. I am so fucking tired. I feel like "namedrop us on matters that also affect us" is below the ground level of expectations, but even that much isn't met. When I say "stop fucking erasing us," I don't mean it because of hurt feelings or validity or whatever inane buzzword people like to throw around, I mean it because important legal matters regarding us keep going under the radar.

I am tired. I am so fucking tired of being talked over by perisex people, and I am tired of being nice about it. Perisex people, do fucking better. I Don't Know How To Explain to You You Should Care About People.
